Founded in 1921, Wynnum Wolves Football Club is one of the oldest clubs in Queensland and boasts a proud history in the round ball game over its 100-year history. Carmichael Park, the home of Wynnum Wolves, is situated in the Bayside suburb of Tingalpa and features four full-sized Football pitches, all under lights, as well as dressing room and clubhouse facilities to support the 500-plus players who wear the Black and Gold of Wolves with pride.
Because of the club’s convenient and central location, just a 20-minute drive from Brisbane’s Central Business District via Wynnum Road, a quick 15 minute commute from Brisbane’s Domestic and International Airports and ease of access via the Gateway Arterial Road – Wynnum Wolves has long drawn its player and membership base not only from the surrounding Bayside suburbs of Brisbane, but from all points north, south and west of the club across Brisbane.
Wynnum Wolves FC strives to offer an inclusive and welcoming environment that provides an opportunity for anyone, regardless of age, gender or skill level, to find a suitable tier of football at the club. For many this starts with the club’s in-house introductory programs for Squirts (3-5 year-olds) and Mini Roos (6-7 year-olds), before stepping up to community Mini-Roos (8-11 year-olds); Junior and Senior Community teams (12s-20s); City League Men’s Football and even Masters teams.
The club’s top tier competitive teams currently play in the Football Queensland Premier League competition, FQPL, in Senior Men’s, Under 20s and Under 18s divisions while the club’s peak Junior teams form part of Football Queensland’s NPL Development Competition (Under 13s-16s) and Skill Acquisition (SAP) structures (Under 9s-12s). The club currently has many young girls involved in its junior programs and is working hard to re-establish its girls and women’s program over the coming seasons.
