What is ‘Fair Play?

The Queensland Government’s “FairPlay” initiative supports sport and recreation at the grassroots level. FairPlay vouchers is one of the initiatives of Activate! Queensland. FairPlay replaces the program formerly known as Get Started Vouchers.

Parents, carers or guardians can apply for a voucher valued up to $150 for their child or young person, which can be used towards membership, registration or participation fees with registered Activity Providers. Wynnum Wolves FC is a registered provider.

Who is eligible?

Eligible applicants are Queensland children and young people aged 5 to 17 (inclusive) who either:

  • hold or whose parent/carer/guardian holds a valid Department of Human Services Health Care Card or Pensioner Concession Card with the child’s name on it; or
  • are identified by a registered referral agent; or
  • as part of a limited trial, families with a combined household annual income of less than $55,000, who do not hold a Health Care Card or Pensioner Concession Card, can register an expression of interest for a FairPlay voucher from 31 July 2019.

What funding is available?

There is a limit of one voucher per child/young person per calendar year. If a child received a voucher in Round 13 of Get Started Vouchers (February 2019), they will not be eligible for another voucher until Round 2 of FairPlay vouchers in January 2020.

How do I get a voucher?

To obtain a FairPlay voucher:

  • visit https://www.qld.gov.au/recreation/sports/funding/fairplay
  • view the list of registered clubs
  • confirm that the club your child is interested in joining is a registered club
  • contact the club that your child wishes to join to find out details of the activity. You are encouraged to ask about any additional costs, equipment required for the activity, and any additional fees that may not be included in the voucher
  • apply for a voucher online by entering your details and the eligible child/young person’s details, including a Centrelink Health Care Card or Pensioner Concession Card number OR referral agents’ details.

If you are eligible, a voucher with a unique reference number will be generated. Print the voucher and take it to Wolves FC at registration time. If the membership/participation fees are more than $150, the
parent/guardian/carer would be required to pay the difference. If the membership/participation fees are less than $150, the department will pay the club for the membership/participation fees only. The balance
is not redeemable in cash or as payment for individual items to participate in the activity (such as jerseys, boots etc.).

Where can I redeem the voucher?

You can redeem your voucher at Wolves FC ( Wynnum District Soccer Club Inc) as the club is registered
with FairPlay.
